Allstate Insurance recently released a new survey about teen driving in Pennsylvania. According to Allstate’s survey:
• Only 56% of teens and 36% of parents of teens were confident in their knowledge of Pennsylvania’s graduated license laws that went into effect more than one year ago.
• Only 15% of teens and 38% of parents of teens report complete compliance with the new graduated license laws.
• Almost half of Pennsylvania teens report breaking the graduated license laws at least once and fewer than 20% of parents were aware of these infractions.
Yet, the majority of parents and teens report knowing that graduated license laws safe lives. The task, now, is to make sure that parents and teens understand the laws and comply with them so that the safety benefits may be realized.
